Marquee Event & Sponsorship Director

We’re looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about coordinating events aimed at connecting progressive women for professional development, networking, and resource sharing for life and work.

Being a board member for a non profit is an excellent way to gain management experience and knowledge in a skill set you are developing for your professional career. As a member-run network, we need your help to ensure we're providing quality events and programming to help members grow and succeed. For members by members.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages planning and execution of the annual anniversary party and marquee events

    • Aside from Anniversary Party, also manages annual film screening and/or a debate screening during election years

    • Must be comfortable managing a planning process over a few months

  • Alongside Board of Directors, sets attendance goals and creates event theme

  • Manages logistics, recruits speakers, secures location, catering and beverages, and coordinates with Communications Director to ensure adequate outreach and communications efforts

  • Coordinates Board and member volunteer assistance and oversees day-of activities.

  • Seeks out additional marquee event opportunities and enlisting the Board help for ideas.

  • Marquee events are distinct from other events in that they provide significant public exposure for Good Ol’ Girls and/or present substantial membership recruitment opportunities.

  • Recruits sponsors for marquee events and coordinates follow up with sponsors after the event
